Mix-down or transfer of digital recordings
from on manufacturer's digital recorder to
another's ins't always straight forward. Some
manufacturers' Digital Work Stations, sound
Cards or DAT recorders have only S/PDIF
outputs, and some oer only AES/EBU
inputs, or vice versa.
The CDL-313 by Hosa is a high quality,
digital link, allowing simultaneous transfer of
two channels of digital-audio in either to both
directions between AES / EBU (XLR) and S/
PDIF (RCA). Now, even though some digital
recorders and work stations have only RCA-
type S/PDIF connections, and some have
only XLR-type AES/EBU connections, you
can still make transfers without leaving the
digital realm. An indispensable tool for the
digital recordist!
Compatibility Issues:
S.C.M.S. (Serial Copy Management System)
is disabled when transferring from S/PDIF to
AES/EBU.
Cables Make A Dierence
On the AES/EBU side, use high-quality 110-
ohm XLR-terminated cables, like Hosa's
AES EBU or series. On the S/PDIF side, use
quality 75-ohm RCA-terminated cables like
Hosa's series.
